This week on December 6-10, 2010, the Joint Learning Network is hosting a Joint Learning Workshop on the topic of Provider Payment Mechanisms, in Bangkok, Thailand. This workshop is intended to serve as the starting point of an ongoing effort to assist countries in the development and reform of their provider payment systems within the context of their government-led health financing schemes.
The workshop is being hosted by IHPP with technical input from the World Bank, Results for Development and other Joint Learning Network partners. Key elements of the agenda include deep-dive discussions of several provider payment mechanisms (e.g., Capitation, DRGs, Hospital Global Budgets) through country case studies, and small group discussions designed to enable countries to develop plans for future learning and action on provider payment reforms in their systems.
