Alison Ion joined Results for Development Institute in February 2008. She works on two projects, the Ministerial Leadership Initiative on health financing for equity and donor harmonization, and the Global Health Workforce Alliance on the topic of health workforce financing. Ms. Ion has field experience in South East Asia, as a part of the GHWA project, she assisted with a data collection exercise for the scale-up of the health workforce, working with the Department of Health in the Philippines. As a member of Justworld international, she worked in Cambodia and taught English to the children living and working in the municipal garbage dump of Phnom Penh. She has a variety of professional experiences, from law to digital media. Ms. Ion holds a BA in International Relations from the American University of Paris.

The Ministerial Leadership Initiative (MLI) will be hosting a reception during the World Health Assembly (WHA) in Geneva at the Intercontinental Hotel on May 20th, from 18:00 to 20:00. The reception will feature presentations by the Ministers of Health from the five countries we are working in under the MLI - Ethiopia, Mali, Nepal, Senegal and Sierra Leone.
